Ya know ever since the "Game Theory: Play and be REBORN! (Courage The Cowardly Dog ARG)" episode was first uploaded on youtube, I've been waiting to hear of news of this game's content getting further updated. and wait.. and waited.. until; like most of my other memories, it became a forgotten thought lingering in the back of my mind, never to see the light of day unless someone finally said the right trigger to force the memory to resurface seemingly at random.
And I come here making this long winded post today because of just that. (798) Game Theory: Spooky ARGs That Still Haunt Me - YouTube - This very ARG is Second on the list for the current video; and given how long ago this project was first released, I really had my hopes up to hear some good news, that just maybe those updates I had been waiting on for so long would have finally been released.
So to learn that something as great as this ARG is; hasn't seen any updates in the past 3 years now according to the current Itch.io page info? I thought at first that maybe it was just because Courage the Cowardly Dog held an important place in my childhood, a familiar level of nostalgia that I held some attachment for still, that I felt devastated. But no, I realized it's more than that. This is genuinely great content, even if this wasn't a Courage the Cowardly dog game. If you were to take the entirely game premise, and swap out the existing Courage the cowardly dog characters & assets for original characters & different assets, while keeping the same over all story elements being told here, this would STILL be a great game experience.
..The problem for me is that it's been left to seemingly be in a state of limbo, that there's no mentions of plans to finish the content, or if this is the final intended product as is, which kind of sucks not to know with 100% certainty that "it is what it is" vs "oh we're still expanding the lore, we just haven't had the time to update the sit with the intended content yet". Like I've heard TALKS that more was intended, but I don't see it on the official sources page, which is here. – So did I miss something? — Is there somewhere else where new content for this ARG has been included that just wasn't listed here on the itch.io page? Or is it just another case of the internet being the internet and the talk of more "found content" to be included later was nothing more than rumors by other users online hoping to keep this amazing game going? (or even misinformation on Matpat's pat during the end section of the Courage the videogame section of the main video mentioned earlier?)
Like, if any of this can be answered from stuff that's only found on the discord server, then someone please at least leave a note here on the main page to check the discord server for further details/updates!
Thought this was going to be a good demo but It did not at all turn out what I thought it was going to be. Could not work out what to do in the dark room. It was a good idea but wish it was worked on more but reading up top I understand why it wasn't.
The creator said the only way he'll start working on it again is to A. tattoo the symbol or B. solve the final secret left in the game but you only have to do one

This game is amazing. She really lacks additions. She would play much more interesting than the next game about Bob’s sponge, etc.
This would've been a nice start to an arg, a little disappointed it didn't go anywhere.
